Overseen by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) Program focuses on being a financial source for small businesses. This report explains how the SBICs have helped with job creation within the small business community. The report also provides information on what the program is about, as well as how it works. Research has indicated that over 11,000 SBICs have created around 3 million jobs since 1995. After taking this and other factors into consideration, the report concluded that the SBIC-funded small businesses have been a major source of job creation in our country’s economy.
